Mechatronic engineers design, analyse, manufacture, integrate and maintain mechatronic systems. Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of engineering specialising in integration of mechanical engineering with electronics and intelligent computer control in enabling smart machines. Areas of work include product design and manufacture of industrial products and processing a range of industries: transport, agriculture, space, aeronautics, mining, robotics, medical equipment, manufacturing and more.
Mechatronic Engineering major prepares students to enter this rapidly developing, cutting edge profession through the development of foundational knowledge that underpin the discipline. Students take on real engineering challenges in design-focused studios throughout the program.
