Overview

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) is designed as an intensive, skills-building program that produces industry-ready, professional performers with a strong sense of individual expression.

Students receive extensive practical training in music theatre's principal disciplines of singing, acting and dance, both as individual crafts and in combination for holistic music theatre performance. You will also choose breadth subjects from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, or from the University of Melbourne’s broad undergraduate subjects.

Music theatre students enjoy regular engagement with leaders in the profession. The course has a strong focus on, and connection to, Melbourne's thriving music theatre profession through daily studio-based training with working artists, and industry master classes with international guest teachers. It also encourages the development and performance of new music theatre works.
