Overview

The Bachelor of General Science/Master of Teaching (Primary R-7) double degree is designed to provide students with the background and skills necessary to teach in primary schools from reception to Year 7. It enables students to build up knowledge and skills across science disciplines at a much broader level suitable for teaching science within a primary school context and offers high achieving students additional challenging material to enable them to maximise their intellectual growth and potential. Students will be provided with the background and skills necessary to enter the teaching profession with confidence and competence. Students will also gain knowledge of curriculum studies and education studies and undertake professional experience which brings together theory and practice in school settings. At the end of third year students will need to meet a minimum graduate point average requirement to progress on to the Master of Teaching topics in years four and five.
