As a qualified health and physical education secondary school teacher, you'll specialise in a topic you're passionate about and develop the critical skills, specialised knowledge and practical classroom experience to nurture your students. Explore the art of movement, learn specialist teaching methods and delve into applied sports science, biomechanics, and motor learning and development.

You'll have access to industry-standard equipment and state-of-the-art facilities, including our Elite Sports Precinct and specialised teaching labs. This, combined with at least 80 days of practical placements, means you'll graduate in-demand ready to create a meaningful career.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 35 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Potential Career Outcomes

On graduation from this industry-accredited degree, you'll be qualified to teach in secondary schools across the private, independent or public education sectors. You'll be highly sought after as a secondary school teacher and have the adaptable leadership, communication and organisation skills to work in advisory roles or in sporting organisations.
