Overview

This course helps you to develop the specialist skills and knowledge in a range of Information Technology fields allowing you to progress your qualifications and career in IT. We focus on areas of high job-demand: web development, mobile application development, network and system computing, ICT management, cybersecurity, cloud app development, online business systems, big data analytics, network management and global leadership.

This course has two majors for students to focus on either software development or network management. Minors available as part of this course include software development, network management, ICT management and the entrepreneurial mindset.

Students with excellent performance will have a chance to transfer to the Bachelor of IT Professional (NBIP) degree. Students will then have the exciting opportunity to experience 12 months of scholarship sponsored internship in the IT industry as part of the degree.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any English; Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any Mathematics.

Majors

Network and system computing, Web and mobile application development.

Potential Career Outcomes

The type of careers this qualification leads to may include computer and network support, website development and database support. Successful completion of the Diploma provides guaranteed entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology where you can continue to develop the technical, analytical, managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills required for graduate entry as an IT professional.
