Students will work with partners to design machine learning applications that can be deployed across a wide variety of industries, studying a broad range of both information technology and machine learning topics. They will have the opportunity to engage with multi-disciplinary teams from across the University in the design and construction of knowledge-based AI-driven systems, gaining insight into the current trends in knowledge engineering and its uses. The Honours year will allow students to study the future directions of machine learning through a major thesis along with a selection of computer, science, engineering and mathematics option topics.
On completion this degree graduates will be able to develop sophisticated solutions to complex problems using machine learning techniques and tools. This degree offers national best practice work experience and job placement, preparing students for the needs of the South Australian, Australian and international technology industry and public service sectors.
