Overview

This ideas-led design course explores the potential and future of interior design as a practice focused on the dynamic relations between people and the surrounding environment. This course will challenge assumptions about interior design. Students learn to think and operate as a designer by engaging with industry and academic design practitioners.

Various interiors are considered, such as architectural, retail, exhibition, urban, digital and filmic, performance and theatre, art installations and more.

Students develop design skills by responding to various design briefs, from conceptual to real-life situations. They are provided with communication tools and technologies such as Rhino, Revit, 3D imaging, model making, hand-drawing and verbal presentation skills. There is the opportunity to travel and engage with industry through workshops and projects that enable students to respond to complex design challenges and concerns.
