Overview

The Bachelor of Law and Society (Law Pathway) is a one year pathway course designed for applicants who want to gain entry into the Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice or into the combined degree of Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice with Bachelor of Law and Society but may not meet the minimum academic requirements. It offers students the opportunity to study four Law topics that are normally restricted to students enrolled in the Law degree. Alongside these, students will study two topics in Criminology and one Legal Studies topic. Students will also be able to choose an additional topic in Australian Studies, Sociology or Political Studies. Students who pass all topics in the Law Pathway and achieve an overall grade point average of 5.0 (Credit average) or above, including a grade of Pass or higher in the four LLAW topics, will have the option of transferring into either the Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice or the Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice combined with the Law and Society degree. Students who do not achieve the required grade point average or who do not wish to pursue a Law degree can transfer into the Bachelor of Law and Society.
