Overview

Graduates of a degree, or applicants who expect to complete a Bachelor degree in 2018, in a study area other than law, should also consider applying through the SATAC postgraduate application service for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (Graduate Entry) (SATAC code 2BH019).It is expected year 12 applicants will need to achieve an ATAR of 95 or above (after the addition of any relevant adjustments) to be competitive for a place in this degree. Applicants who feel they may not meet this minimum academic requirement should also apply for the Bachelor of Laws combined degrees (SATAC code 244242).Graduates of this degree must also complete a practical legal training course to make them eligible to apply to the Supreme Court for admission to practise as a barrister and solicitor in South Australia.Combining degrees enables students to follow their interests and aspirations and enhance their career prospects by undertaking a second area of study in addition to their primary degree. Completing an approved combined degree option will normally add at least one extra year (full-time equivalent) to their studies. For example, students combining two three-year full-time equivalent degrees are normally able to complete both degrees in four years of full-time equivalent study. Students graduate with two degrees, expanding employment opportunities. To be considered for entry to approved combined degree options applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements and any subject pre-requisites for both courses. Chances of selection for combined degrees will not be affected by which combined degree option is selected since the selection rank will be the same. Students can also apply for entry to approved combined degree options after commencing a degree and should seek academic counselling before applying. Please note that if you wish to combine this degree with the Bachelor of Commerce (Advanced Leadership), only the following Commerce (Advanced Leadership) specialisations are available: Accounting, Business Economics or Finance.
