Overview

Combine a foundation in psychology and mental health with a legal education. You’ll study topics such as criminal law, the relationship between mental disorder and criminal responsibility, social psychology and psychological intervention.

Your psychology studies will develop your research, analytical and communication skills, and you’ll have access to over 20 psychology subjects.

You can also attend guest lectures from expert researchers and practitioners, building your understanding of the biological and social aspects of human behaviour.

Your law studies will give you the opportunity to study clinical legal education subjects, gain practical experience and build skills in advocacy, mediation and negotiation.

You’ll also study a compulsory specialised law subject relevant to psychology: Mental Disorder and Criminal Responsibility.

During your studies, you’ll have exposure to organisations including private law firms and community legal services.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
