Overview

This offering of the medicine course is only available to applicants who have completed Year 12 studies (or VCE equivalent) no more than two years prior, and have not undertaken any other studies at a tertiary level including Cert IV.

We encourage applicants who are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, from rural communities or from lower socioeconomic home locations to apply.

In October, applicants will receive information via email inviting them to submit relevant information to be considered for the Dean's Rural List (DRL) and/or the Monash University Indigenous Student Access Scheme. Eligibility may increase the chance of being invited to interview. See other selection criteria.

Note that to be eligible for DRL you must have lived for at least 5 years consecutively or 10 years cumulatively, in an Australian area with Remoteness Area classification 2-5 (see link for eligible localities).

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 35 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 30 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in Chemistry.
