Overview

The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares students for registration as an entry-level midwife and work in maternity settings such as hospitals, birth centres, and other community agencies. Students will acquire the skills and knowledge to manage normal pregnancy and childbirth and provide effective postnatal maternal and newborn care in any maternity setting. They will learn how to provide safe and reliable care that meets the individual psychological, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of women and their families. Students will undertake a variety of clinical units throughout the course in maternity hospitals and community facilities.
