Overview

Entry into second year of the Bachelor of Nursing is available to applicants who have completed a registered Diploma of Nursing, or who have completed some undergraduate level study in the field of nursing.

You'll develop your clinical skills safely using simulation techniques and realistic case studies. With a maximum of 12 students, our clinical learning laboratories allow for individual support from academics.

Speciality areas covered include high acuity nursing, aged care, mental health, palliative care, rural and Indigenous healthcare, family health, paediatrics and primary health care nursing.

Your learning will be reinforced with 800 hours of nursing placement in a variety of clinical settings to help you develop into a well-rounded professional.

You'll graduate as a registered nurse (RN) ready to pursue a career in a variety of fields including tertiary hospitals, aged care, rural, remote or community health care settings.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates can practice as a registered nurse (RN) nationally and internationally (once registered in that country) in a range of areas including primary health care, acute inpatient medical surgical, chronic disease management, mental health, child and family health, palliative care, community nursing, aged care, workplace safety, rural and Indigenous health and emergency medicine.
