Overview

Our Bachelor of Nutrition teaches you about the needs of the human body both in good health and in illness at the individual, community and population levels. You will learn how to critically analyse, develop, implement and evaluate nutrition intervention programs that address nutritional issues.
This degree in Nutrition will teach you how to apply preventative principles to address nutrition issues at all levels of the population.

Learning outcomes
  • Learn about health science, human and community nutrition, and public health.
  • Discover the relationship between nutritional intake, the maintenance of health and the development of disease.
  • Consider the local and global food system and the sociological aspects of dietary intake.
  • Design, implement and evaluate evidenced-based public health nutrition interventions.
  • Understand and apply evidence-based practice and critical enquiry.

Biological Foundations, Nutrition and Society, Evidence-based Practice, First Peoples Culture History and Healthcare, Chemistry for the Health Professions , Nutritional Biochemistry and Human Metabolism.

Potential Career Outcomes

The Bachelor of Nutrition prepares you for a range of careers in Nutrition, with a focus on population health, nutrition-related health promotion and disease prevention. On completion, you’ll be open to roles in community nutrition, health promotion and advocacy, working with consumer organisations, food industry, government departments and community groups.
