Overview

This double degree prepares you to be nutritionists who can help communicate nutrition science to the public and advise the community about food choices for healthy eating. You will be able to demonstrate cognitive, technical and communication skills to undertake professional work in nutrition and the food science fields. Combining the nutrition science and business administration courses enables you to utilise your knowledge and skills in industry, the public service or in small business enterprises.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for year 12 or equivalent..

Majors

Business Administration, Nutrition.

Potential Career Outcomes

The course prepares you for careers in national and international health agencies; state and federal government health departments; public health, industry or private practice nutritionist; food safety and regulation; research and product development; and the education sector. Management and consultancy roles are also possible in both small and large business enterprises.
