Overview

Study South Australia's only degree in pharmacy and prepare for, career as, registered pharmacist. Be equipped with the knowledge and skills to help people get the best outcomes from medicines; and work across, variety of settings, including pharmacies, hospitals, aged care, defence services, rural care, and more.

Focus on key study areas such as managing common diseases, ethical pharmacy practice, and trialling and regulation of medicines. Complete industry placements in community and hospital-based pharmacy settings, and as part of your honours, you'll develop advanced skills in research and professional practice.

Following graduation, you'll satisfy the academic requirements for registration as, pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (PBA), which is also determined by, period of supervised training.

Pre-Placement Requirements:

All students who, as part of their program, undertake activities where interaction with patients/the public is required, such as in field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must satisfy the pre-placement requirements prior to commencement. These may include:

  • Criminal history screenings
  • Department of Human Services (DHS) checks
  • Vaccinations and screening for communicable diseases
  • Professional training and certification

High achieving students may wish to consider the double degree Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours).
