Overview

The four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree is designed to prepare students for the inevitable expansion of the role that pharmacists will play as part of the healthcare team. You will gain a thorough grasp of scientific disciplines and the key skills that make a great pharmacist. Unlike our five year degree which includes an internship year and a Master of Pharmacy degree, you may elect to enter this four-year degree program if you plan on completing your internship period at a later date or elsewhere.

In order to practise as a Pharmacist in Australia, you will need to undertake a one-year period of supervised practice, while also completing an Intern Training Program accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC). Monash University offers an APC accredited Intern Training Program, either as a stand-alone course that you can progress into upon degree completion or as part of the five-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy degree you can transfer into. 

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in Chemistry; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
