La Trobe’s Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics gives you a multi-disciplinary perspective on the political and economic systems that shape the world.

Explore how governments manage their economies to achieve important social objectives and learn how the economy works in a world of globalised and interdependent markets. Take subjects in philosophy to refine your critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.

Personalise your degree to your passions. Choose from five majors, including political economy, politics, economics, political philosophy or philosophy to build specialist knowledge. Gain practical experience through a work-based learning placement in your third year to graduate ready to tackle real-world problems.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Economics, Philosophy, Political economy, Political philosophy, Politics.
