Overview

Understand who we are and how we think, feel, act and change when you study psychological science at UOW. You will scientifically study the human mind and its functions, and how they influence behaviour as you seek to identify mechanisms that explain behaviour in various contexts.

What underlies the physiological, sensory and cognitive processes of the human experience? How can psychologists apply this knowledge to solve emotional and behavioural problems? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more..
You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields in this degree for the highly motivated. You will learn how the science and practice of psychology is influenced by social, historical, professional and cultural contexts, and knowledge of ethical behaviour.

The Bachelor of Psychological Science will teach you the processes basic to human psychology. Subjects include biological and social bases of behaviour, cognition and perception, social and developmental psychology, personality, and applied psychology. You will also have the opportunity to take additional majors or minors in areas such as HR management, criminology, philosophy, sociology, and marketing.

The Bachelor of Psychological Science is a route to Postgraduate coursework or research degrees in Psychology. It is also a partial qualification for provisional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
