Overview

This degree will give you a thorough grounding in the application of clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, social and organisational psychology. You’ll learn how to apply psychological theories and use skills to work with people with personal, health, vocational and social difficulties, assisting them to reach their full potential. You’ll also learn how to apply psychological theories to topics such as thinking and perceiving, motivation, stress, health and group behaviour, evaluate and understand tests that measure intellectual, behavioural and emotional state, and use interpersonal skills, counselling skills, coaching and group facilitation skills, and behaviour change skills. Prerequisites

Potential Career Outcomes

You will be prepared for a career in counselling, guidance, health management, social research, rehabilitation and other related fields including health and organisational workplaces. As a graduate, you may also be eligible for entry into a wide range of postgraduate degrees in areas like social work, speech pathology, teacher preparation, rehabilitation counselling, forensic mental health, criminology and criminal justice. You will need to complete further study to work as a registered psychologist.
