Overview

Study psychology and develop an understanding of human behaviour, motivation, relationships, communication and cognitive processes. Completion of this course allows you to combine studies in psychology with a minor in a field you select based on your interest and career goals. You will develop skills relevant for future study or employment, including in working with people both individually and within groups. You will also complete a fieldwork placement that enables you to reflect upon and apply knowledge gained in class in a work setting.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Majors

Psychology.

Potential Career Outcomes

Upon completion, you will be eligible to apply for a fourth year (Honours) of study in Psychology. Completion of an accredited fourth year in Psychology is necessary in order to undertake postgraduate studies to become a psychologist.
