Overview

Understand who we are and how we think, feel, act and change when you study psychology at UOW. You will scientifically study the human mind and its functions, and how they influence behaviour.

What underlies the physiological, sensory and cognitive processes of the human experience? How can psychologists apply this knowledge to solve practical problems? On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more.

You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields in this degree for the highly motivated. You will learn core foundational knowledge across the first year of your degree before exploring advanced psychological concepts in your second and third year. As a student in this advanced degree, you will have the opportunity to explore additional, diverse, psychology electives to further shape and enhance your studies in psychology. You will learn how the science and practice of psychology is influenced by social, historical, professional and cultural contexts, and knowledge of ethical behaviour. Students within this program have the added advantage of progressing directly into an Honours year in the final year of their studies.

The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) meets requirements for provisional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a route to postgraduate coursework or research degrees in Psychology.
