Overview

The World Health Organization defines public health as the art and science of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organised efforts of society. You’ll develop the knowledge and skills needed to make a valuable contribution to society in this high demand area. You’ll learn how to address major health issues including chronic disease, sexual health, under- and over-nutrition, HIV/AIDs, physical inactivity, and drug and alcohol abuse, in settings such as workplaces, hospitals and schools. In the final year, you’ll put your studies into practice through professional placements in public health organisations. For more course information, visit Bachelor of Public Health at GU.
