Overview

Gain specialist skills in the disciplines of psychology and criminology with this unique course that also features an accredited psychology degree.

Students will develop a broad knowledge of criminology and psychology and their application, including theoretical perspectives and an appreciation of the social and cultural contexts of criminological and psychological research and professional practice.

A unique feature of this course is the option to complete a research project or work placement as part of a capstone unit. Upon completion of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the methodologies and statistical techniques commonly used by researchers for information gathering and analysis, which can be applied when undertaking research activities.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any English.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 26 in any English.

Potential Career Outcomes

The Bachelor of Science (Criminology and Psychology) prepares graduates for a career in criminal justice, police, customs, correction services and other law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
