Overview

As an RMIT Dean Scholar in Science you will strengthen your foundation in biology, biotechnology, chemistry or physics in preparation for further study or research.

This is a select entry four-year degree incorporating an honours year for capable and highly motivated students who want research training through hands-on participation in research projects.

During the second year of the program, you will be mentored as you participate in a minimum of two research projects within the School of Applied Sciences.

In the third year, you will have an opportunity to participate in a research project which may involve collaboration with industry partners. The final year includes advanced coursework and an advanced research project of your choice.

This degree is intended as a pathway into higher degree by research studies.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Biological science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics.
