Overview

Hydrology is the study of water movement across the globe, within catchments and urban areas, and below the ground, and is an essential discipline for managing freshwater to meet human and environmental needs. The Bachelor of Science (Hydrology) delves into the science of water movement in the atmosphere, surface systems and aquifers, and considers such cross-disciplinary aspects as water quality, ecological water requirements, field and computer-based methods of investigation, and management practices. Students may tailor their degree by choosing from a range of elective topics that enables them to develop critical analysis and interpretation skills in hydrological problems, with practical links to real-world issues associated with human and environmental dependencies.Graduates will obtain skills that will equip them to pursue careers in a diversity of related areas, including employment within government bodies and environmental agencies, consulting firms, mining industry and the water industry.
