Overview

This graduate degree package allows you to attain an undergraduate qualification in the Bachelor of Science and a Masters-level qualification in the Doctor of Dental Surgery. It guarantees high-achieving students a Commonwealth Supported Place or International Fee Place in the Doctor of Dental Surgery.

A minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 80% is required in the Bachelor of Science to progress to the Doctor of Dental Surgery, however applicants are not required to sit the Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) (or equivalent). Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Science with the required WAM, including passing all subjects which are prerequisites for the graduate degree on their first attempt, will automatically progress to the Doctor of Dental Surgery.

The Doctor of Dental Surgery is only available full time (4 years duration).

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; and a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods (any) or Maths: Specialist Mathematics; and a study score of at least 25 in one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.--OR--Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; and a study score of at least 25 in both of Maths: Mathematical Methods (any) and Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Along with clinical prospects, graduates of the Doctor of Dental Surgery have the opportunity to pursue further education as a researcher in the field of Oral Health in either a Master of Philosophy or a Doctor of Philosophy.
