Overview

Urban and regional planning is more than just creating physical environments - it's a way of sustainably and equitably changing and shaping the world.

This course is suitable for anyone with a passion for geography, urban design, history, economics, politics or environmental studies.

Students develop an understanding of all the influences that affect the way we live, work, play and commute and the many other considerations involved in creating sustainable and liveable cities and regions. They engage in key areas of planning including land use, transport, conservation and policy.

While this course focuses on Melbourne and its surrounds, students are introduced to planning practices across the world. They learn from and are involved in many real-life projects with leading practitioners. Students also have the option of studying overseas in countries with progressive planning systems and participating in international study tours.
