Overview

Our Bachelor of Visual Arts Program is reimagined for contemporary times, focusing on self-initiated art practice and collaboration. We foster a cohesive art community supporting you during your degree and after graduation. Contemporary art practice is contextualised through a comprehensive historical/ theoretical foundation.

Our flexible studios include facilities for painting, drawing, ceramics, installation, printmaking, and media technologies. You will also gain skills in exhibition management through our online/campus galleries.

Learn from international artists while immersing yourself in projects with local arts organisations. Our calendar is aligned with Ballarat International Foto Biennale, Ballarat Heritage Festival, the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Tarrawarra Museum of Art, Latrobe Regional Gallery, and Gippsland Art Gallery. Internships in arts organisations and a range of electives across disciplines expand your employment options in the arts sector and beyond.
