This course is part of Swinburne’s 2024 Early Entry Program. You will be selected for entry based on your subject study scores and school recommendation, instead of your ATAR. To be eligible, you must submit an online application and preference this course in VTAC. Learn more

This diploma will prepare you for further study in the arts, media and communications. You’ll develop creative skills and research-based knowledge. Use critical thinking to offer solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. Learn about the ethical principles and cultural competencies that shape modern thinking. Get practical strategies for improving your oral and written communication. And discover how content creation and digital literacy spread messages in a tech-driven world.

On successful completion of the UniLink diploma, you can move straight into a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Media and Communication, adding no additional time or money to your studies.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Majors

Applied communication, Grand challenges - industrial revolution to digital age, Indigenous studies, Introduction to media studies, Media content development, Popular culture.

Potential Career Outcomes

Depending on the bachelor degree you choose and the areas in which you major, graduates may find employment as journalists, librarians, sociologists, publishers, community worker, health policy developer, clinical technologist, healthcare consultant, health communication officer, nutritionist, internet providers, marketers, writers, and in the games industry, particularly in areas focusing on interactive content creation, game design, interface design and rapid prototyping.
