Overview

La Trobe’s Diploma of Arts / Bachelor of Arts package gives you a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Arts if you didn’t meet the entry requirements or would like additional support as you transition to university.

In the Diploma you’ll study in the same subjects and classes as Bachelor students while receiving additional support with enrolment, subject selection and university systems from a dedicated Senior Support Advisor. Find out about the support services available to you.

Upon successful completion of the Diploma you will move directly into the second year of La Trobe's Bachelor of Arts, receiving advanced standing for the subjects you have already completed.

With La Trobe’s flexible Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a range of majors and minors from humanities, social sciences, and business.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Crime, justice & legal Studies, History, heritage and the environment, Human geography (Bendigo only), Indonesian (Bendigo only), Society, culture and social change, Writing and literature.

Potential Career Outcomes

La Trobe Arts graduates have gone on to be employed in a wide range of areas which value the skills of communication, writing, research, problem solving, critical thinking and project management. These include Arts and cultural organisations, start-ups, not-for-profits, NGOs, Government (local, state and Commonwealth), publishing, media and communication, higher education and human resources.
