Mathematics Standard 2 or Mathematics Advanced or HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or 2 (Band 3), plus non-academic entry requirements. Students selecting Primary Education from second year of the Bachelor of Education will need any two units of Science (Band 3)
Primary teaching: Students selecting primary education from Year 2 need to have completed any 2 units of science (Band 3). Students undertaking an initial teacher education program will need to successfully complete the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) to graduate from the program. Students are permitted three test attempts in total for each component. If students fail three test attempts for each component, they will not be able to graduate.
Previous education studies: Successful completion of the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) is not an entry requirement for this program. However, if you have achieved a 'satisfactory' result for one or more component of the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) at another institution, the 'satisfactory' result can be carried across with your program application. You are not eligible to apply for a place in the program if one or more component of LANTITE remains at 'unsatisfactory' after two test attempts for that component. Griffith University does not support reset of LANTITE test attempts.
Secondary teaching: Students select teaching areas that they have successfully studied (at Band 3) in their senior schooling. For the mathematics teaching area: Mathematics Advanced or Mathematics Extension 1 or Mathematics Extension 2.
