Overview

In our Diploma of Sport Coaching and Development – offered at the Carlton College of Sport at Ikon Park – you'll cover an extensive range of disciplines, including sport and exercise science, coaching, management, talent identification and sport marketing.

With access to elite athletes, coaches, high performance staff and mentors, you'll get the chance to immerse yourself in the Club and get exclusive insights to events, community activations, facility operations, fan engagement and match-day protocols.

Upon completion, the course also provides a full year's credit towards the Bachelor of Sport Coaching and Development and may provide credit in other allied health and sport management courses.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Sport coaching, Sport development.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduate ready for a coaching and development career in Australian football, soccer, basketball, sports academies, schools, sport-focused businesses and sport governing bodies at all levels. You may also wish to take advantage of international opportunities in sport development, coach education and the rapidly expanding global sport ecosystem.
