Overview

The Undergraduate Certificate in Architectural Design combines a range of units in building construction, building design documentation, architectural history and theory that serves as a foundation for architectural design.

On completion of this course, participants will have the relevant skills and knowledge to appreciate architectural design strategies, understand historical and theoretical backgrounds, to prepare design documentation and to evaluate building construction principles.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Majors

Architectural design.

Potential Career Outcomes

As key professionals in building design/architectural design and construction industry, graduates will work closely with other professional disciplines, industry groups and development authorities.

Graduates will have a wide range of employment opportunities for employers in both private and public sectors such as architects, building contractors, developers, engineers, government bodies, consultancy practices and corporations with large building portfolios or be self-employed entrepreneurs.
