Overview


The purpose of the Undergraduate Certificate in Education (P12) STEM is to provide an opportunity to make an informed assessment about education as a career. The course provides both theoretical and curriculum knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics that can be used for careers in educative settings that do not require teacher registration. The course develops knowledge, skills and attributes that will be useful in a range of occupations and can also serve as a strong basis for further tertiary study.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Education.

Potential Career Outcomes

Upon course completion, you may apply to enter the Diploma of Education Studies, Bachelor of Education Studies or Bachelor of Education (P-12). Completion of this course will upskill graduates in those areas and enable them to seek employment in government-initiated tutoring programs that have been created as a response to COVID-19 learning challenges experienced by school students. The focus on education may also be relevant to working in training roles in a range of organisations/industries.
