Overview

In the first year of Associate Degree, you'll learn fundamental principles of engineering that apply across different areas of engineering. In the second year, you will major in Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering where you will undertake major-specific courses and complete a capstone project. You will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design, install, maintain, analyse and improve a range of devices, systems and infrastructures.

The Bachelor focuses on designing and building advanced robotic and control systems, automated and data-driven manufacturing, and advanced materials. You'll study electrical and electronic system design, machine intelligence and robotics, computer programming and advanced materials. You'll design, build and implement smart mechatronic systems which can be deployed within a wide range of engineering companies. You'll have the opportunity to work with industry leaders using theory and practical experience to solve a problem.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

The Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics) may lead to careers that include service engineering, product design and process and production planner.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Adv Manufacturing and Mechatronics) (Honours) may lead to careers that include aerospace engineering, asset management, automotive engineering, materials processing, food and beverage production, logistics, marine engineering, mining engineering and service industries.
