Overview

This course is designed to develop the skills of justice innovators and critically reflective leaders in the criminal justice sector and academia. Building on undergraduate studies, students will design and develop a research project and complete a scholarly thesis as they undertake advanced coursework, which provides a firmer grounding in the field and in research methods. Students will enhance their sense of professional identity and widen their learning horizons through exposure to a greater range of professional and research practice, engage with the academic world of criminal justice by becoming part of a network of talented students providing fresh insights and information to the justice industry through deeper analysis and become familiar with a variety of criminal justice professional environments. Employers value an honours degree as it demonstrates higher-order research, analysis and writing skills.

Year 12 prerequisites

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Bachelor Degree: Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0. Overseas equivalents will be considered.

Potential Career Outcomes

This qualification can lead to careers including policy analysts, research analysts, parliamentary liaison officers, social researchers, law clerks and investigators.
