In a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology students gain foundational knowledge and skills in psychology within a comprehensive liberal arts programs. The program offers a deep conceptual and evidence-based understanding of the behaviour, cognitive functions, and emotional processes of human beings. Students explore how emotional and cognitive states influence individual development and behaviour, and how these factors themselves can be influenced by physiological and biological processes. They are introduced to diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, while also examining scientific methods used to analyse a wide range of topics related to mental health and behaviour. Students can complement their studies in psychology with a range of second majors or minors which can broaden or deepen personal interests.
This degree is seeking accreditation with the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council. An accredited degree is a pathway towards registration as a psychologist after further accredited studies.
