Overview

Become a specialist in building and construction laws, codes and regulations, industry standards in professional practice, building safety and design with a degree in building surveying.

In this three-year degree, you will study and develop skills in building legislation and auditing, building codes, sustainable construction techniques and materials, fire safety design, inspection procedures, building services and professional practice.

Building Surveyors are responsible for interpreting building and construction regulations for residential and commercial buildings; issuing building permits such as occupancy permits; conducting inspections; and assessing plans.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any English.

Majors

Building surveying.
