Flinders University - Bedford Park Campus
The Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) (Honours) has been designed to provide a strong foundation in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of engineering, particularly those relevant to the systematic development of electrical and electronic engineering and an awareness of social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of electrical and electronic engineering. This degree allows you to specialise in four areas - Advanced Electrical Engineering, Advanced Electronic Engineering, Computer and Network Systems or Electronic Systems and Security. An extensive practical engineering work experience placement program also forms part of the course.
On completion of this degree students will be able to proficiently use professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex electrical and electronic systems and demonstrate a broad understanding of the electrical and electronic engineering discipline. Students will apply their skills and knowledge in a professionally responsible manner and be able to communicate effectively with other engineers and the wider global community using a wide range of communication technologies. Students will develop engineering solutions appropriate to the social, political, international, economic and environmental contexts in which they are applied and engage in the process of continuing learning needed to retain the necessary level of professional skills and knowledge in the area of electrical and electronic engineering.
This degree prepares graduates for careers in teams with health professionals and medical specialists. Potential occupations may include environmental health, air pollution management and water supply engineer; potential employers may include building and construction companies, government agencies and universities.
