Our Bachelor of Nursing prepares you for the diversity and complexities of 21st century nursing.

At Swinburne, you'll benefit from our focus on technology and innovation, and our small class sizes which provide more individualised support. Your clinical skills will be developed safely using simulation technology and realistic case studies.

All our bachelor degrees include a guaranteed Work Integrated Learning opportunity. This degree features work placement as a professional accreditation requirement. You’ll complete 800 clinical practicum hours in varied clinical settings. In Nursing Projects (NUR30007), you'll collaborate with industry partners on a student-led project.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 or equivalent.

Anatomy and physiology, Clinical governance and quality care, Complex and community care, Concepts of aged care, Ethics and law in health care, Health assessment and decision-making, Health promotion, High acuity nursing, Indigenous Australian experiences, Managing chronic care, Mental health nursing, Nursing children and young people, Nursing research, Pathophysiology and acute nursing care, Pharmacology in nursing, Physiology in medical and health sciences.

Potential Career Outcomes

Our graduates go on to work as nurses in a range of areas including primary health care, acute inpatient medical surgical, chronic disease management, mental health, child and family health, palliative care, community nursing, aged care, workplace safety, rural and Indigenous health and emergency medicine.
