Discover psychology using a scientific approach. In La Trobe's major in psychological science, you’ll deepen your understanding of how people think, behave and relate to one another.

Offered through La Trobe’s Bachelor of Science, in this major you’ll explore how culture and society can shape our experiences and health choices. Expand your understanding of psychological health and illness, while learning how to assess psychological functioning in individuals. You’ll also investigate how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are influenced by other people.

La Trobe's Bachelor of Science offers you foundational skills in science and the freedom to delve into your passions. Whether it’s protecting endangered animals, developing new ways to treat disease or fighting climate change, you'll personalise your degree with majors in a range of fields, including botany, statistics, microbiology, genetics, data science and more.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
