Overview

If you are prepared to challenge the status quo by using science to address complex global challenges, and want to convert ideas into tangible solutions, then this Honours version of the Bachelor of Science is for you.

In addition to study of the scientific discipline of your choice you'll learn about leadership, persuasive communication, entrepreneurship, policy, ethics and corporate social responsibility.

Access to high-profile guest speakers and an internship (either domestic or international) will provide the opportunity to transform your scientific expertise into a business or social enterprise.

In the year-long project in your final year you will tackle a problem of real-world significance. Mentored by research and industry leaders, you will work in small teams to approach an issue from scientific, policy, social and business perspectives in order to develop innovative solutions.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 35 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 30 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in one of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Maths: Mathematical Methods, Maths: Specialist Mathematics, Physics or Psychology.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
