Overview

Speech pathologists are trained to assess and manage disorders of communication. The Bachelor of Speech Pathology encompasses all aspects of communication including speech, writing, reading, signs, symbols and gestures. Speech pathologists study the theoretical and practical aspects of speech, hearing, language, voice and difficulties in swallowing and feeding. This course is designed to expose students to speech pathology practice from the first year of the degree.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for year 12 or equivalent.
