Overview

Help others find their voice with La Trobe's Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours).

Develop an understanding of the anatomy behind speech and swallowing impairments and provide therapeutic treatment and management options. You'll also learn how to improve speech pathology services and policies by tackling a fourth-year industry project or research thesis.

At La Trobe, you'll get hands-on with approximately 1,000 hours of placement at our on-campus speech pathology clinic and in clinical placements within metropolitan and regional hospitals, clinics and other health settings.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Biology, Chemistry, Health And Human Development, any Mathematics, Physical Education or Physics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
