Overview

Want to unlock your understanding of Austronesian languages? Indonesian is the official language of Indonesia, the fourth most populous nation in the world with over 270 million people. It is also spoken in Malaysia, East Timor, and by over a million others worldwide. This makes Indonesian one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

What will you do?

Our Diploma in Languages (Indonesian Studies) is set up so you can study a language alongside your primary degree. It will usually add an extra year to your time at university. You will:

  • learn to speak, read and write Indonesian
  • develop an understanding and appreciation of Indonesian culture
  • improve your knowledge of how language works
  • add an additional qualification to your resume
Where could it take you?

You might work in foreign aid, helping tackle health security and inequality. You could be an engineer in Jakarta. Perhaps you're interested in teaching, tourism, or translation. Adding a language to your resume will give you a competitive edge in almost every single field.
