In this industry-focused course you'll gain specialist skills in analysing, designing and operating sophisticated aircraft and spacecraft systems.

You’ll study various topics such as aerodynamics, aerospace materials and structures, aerospace systems, design principles, dynamics and control, thermodynamics, and propulsion. Minor studies allow you to tailor the course to suit your areas of interest and enhance your career opportunities.

A practical focus combined with strong industry links enables you to be job-ready. There will be multiple opportunities for hands-on learning in well-equipped laboratories. You'll have the option to gain real world experience through work placements and industry projects.

As an aerospace engineer you’ll have opportunities to design aircraft and spacecraft, develop propulsion systems and plan maintenance programs.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: Further Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
